This Role

Due to the ongoing growth and transformation of our organisation, we are seeking an Trainer & Assessor - Carpentry at our Salisbury campus, on a contract basis, for 2 days per week. In this role you will be required to deliver professional, high quality, training delivery and assessment for students enrolled in Certificate III in Carpentry.  

Key responsibilities include:
  • Plan and prepare session plans and resources in readiness for training delivery
  • Deliver training and conduct assessments for assigned client groups
  • Provide an engaging, supportive and learner-focused learning environment
  • Make considered assessment judgements on the skills and knowledge of learners and determine their competence
  • With a meticulous eye for detail, provide accurate training records for assigned course participants
  • Provide support, encouragement and compassion to course participants as necessary
  • Ensure all compliance requirements are met
  • Attend regular Everthought College of Construction meetings
  Skills and experience required for this role

Essential
  • A minimum of 5 years working as a Carpenter or Carpenter and Joiner
  • Trade Certificate, Certificate III in Carpentry or Certificate III in Carpentry and Joinery
  • Demonstrated knowledge of theoretical and practical foundations in Carpentry
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and mentor learners
  • Demonstrated experience working with culturally diverse clients
  • Current industry experience
  • Passion for sharing your industry experience with international students
  • Computer literacy, particularly MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to accurately complete required documentation in accordance with detailed time frames
  • A current National Police Clearance, or ability to obtain one
  • A current Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain one
Desirable
  • Carpentry Training and Assessment Experience
  • TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or higher)
  • Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Site Management) and/or Diploma of Building and Construction (Management)

This Role
 
Due to the ongoing growth and transformation of our organisation, we are seeking an experienced Student Support and Training Administration Officer to join the team at our Brisbane South campus located within the Construction Training Centre in Salisbury.
 
You will be an outgoing, self starter with a passion for supporting student wellbeing.  You will have experience in providing training administration and reception duties in a training organization. 
 
Key responsibilities include:
 
Student Support and Wellbeing
  • Point of contact for international students at the Brisbane South Campus
  • Provide wellbeing support to Brisbane based international students
  • Maintain awareness of ECOC obligations under the ESOS framework.
  • Schedule and participate in the orientation/induction program for overseas students
  • Monitor student progress and attendance. 
  • Monitor student visa requirements and end dates.
Training Administration
  • Provide training administration and reception support to the Brisbane campus, ECOC trainers and broader ECOC team.
  • Greet students and visitors at the Brisbane campus.
  • Input student data in the Student Management System 
  • Maintain data integrity within the student management system.
  • Deal with student enquiries.
  • Maintain filing and record keeping related to student training
  • Conduct daily absentee follow ups
  • Create invoices, collect payments and follow-up progress
  • Monitor and procure stationery
Skills and experience required for this role

Essential: To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Experience working with a training provider
  • Computer literacy, particularly MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide wellbeing support to overseas students
  • A current National Police Clearance, or ability to obtain one
  • A current Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain one
Desirable
  • Certificate III in Business (or higher)
  • Previous experience working with International students
  • Experience with PowerPro, PRISMS and Box will be well-regarded
