CPC30111 Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying
The Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying provides students with necessary skills, knowledge and experience to work on a building site in the areas of bricklaying and blocklaying. Students will learn how to lay and bond bricks and similar building blocks and how to construct decorative panels, feature walls, arches and columns. Students will learn how to lay bricks for domestic, commercial and public buildings. Students will also learn how to prepare and maintain brickwork.

Recognition of prior learning
The process of Skills Recognition (Recognition of Prior Learning and/or Recognition of Current Competencies) gives those people with the relevant experience the opportunity to gain formal recognition for their competencies (skills and knowledge) gained through life, work and study, regardless of where, when and how they were achieved.
Participants are responsible for gathering evidence that will show they have the required competencies to the standard set out by the industry in the National Competency Standards.
On campus
The qualification is delivered through a combination of online and workplace or classroom based training and delivery.
You will be allocated a Trainer/Assessor who can provide you support over the phone or by email or face-to-face as required.
Apprenticeship
This course is able to be taken as an apprenticeship.
What will you learn?
This certificate requires the successful completion of 27 units of competency, composed of 21 compulsory units and 6 elective units. Each unit consists of a hands-on, practical workshop and theoretical classroom training approach with assessments that include computer tests, practical demonstrations and observed simulated tasks.

Course Recognition
This program covers building construction theory and practices related to residential and commercial applications. This program will provide you with the knowledge and skills to meet the technical qualifications for the qualification of Bricklaying/Blocklaying.
Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.
